Purchasing Agent
JOB SUMMARY
Our client is seeking a temporary Purchasing Agent to provide administrative and operational support for approximately three months. This full-time contract role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong administrative skills, is detail-oriented, and communicates professionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor the shared purchasing inbox for internal and supplier communication
- Draft purchase requisitions using established procedures and documentation
- Create and update purchase order change requests, including memo details, revised amounts, and supporting documents
- Send approved purchase and change orders to suppliers
- Monitor supplier insurance expiration dates; send renewal reminders using templates and upload new certificates upon receipt
- Assist with defined projects such as sending overdue expense report reminders, and small-scale data sorting or entry tasks in Excel
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to interact with diverse constituencies
- Familiarity with basic procurement and business operations
- Professional demeanor and punctuality
- Excellent written & oral communication skills
- Demonstrated customer service experience
- Good judgment, discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Deadline & detail oriented
- Ability to learn and comfort with new technology, basic familiarity with MS and Google suites
- Ability to organize and prioritize work, take initiative, and resolve problems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
