Legal Assistant
JOB SUMMARY
Our New Hampshire law firm client is seeking a Legal Assistant to join their marital and probate practice group! This role offers the chance to grow your legal career in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while working independently on key administrative and legal support tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Open and close client files; perform conflict checks
- Manage new client intake and draft engagement letters
- Receive, scan, and distribute mail and correspondence
- Draft legal correspondence to clients, courts, and opposing counsel
- Organize and maintain paper and electronic files
- Schedule appointments, court dates, and maintain calendars
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and staff professionally
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in a law firm or legal office – family law ideal!
- Proficient with technology and quick to learn new systems
- Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Ability to manage deadlines and balance multiple active matters
